The Mosque Curriculum Study team members had an honour to present the interim report of the project to the Orang Besar Daerah (OBD) Gombak on 16 May 2019. The event was held at Al-Tabari Conference room, KIRKHS.
The Office of the Deputy Dean (Student Development and Community Engagement), KIRKHS together with the Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences Student Society (IRKHSSS) and MPKK Kampung Sungai Chinchin, Gombak had successfully organized a community engagement project on 27 April 2019. It was held at various locations in Kampung Sungai Chinchin. This new model of community engagement project will be used as a model for all future community engagement projects organize by the Kulliyyah
Students’ Secretariat from the Department of History and Civilization (HISTFORIUM) had successfully conducted an educational activity with school students at SMK Seri Gombak on 20 April 2019. The event was officially closed by the Head, Department of History and Civilization.
A newly established research unit under the Mosque Curriculum Development Flagship known as Deviant Teachings Study group had a meeting with the Research and Development Unit, Pejabat Agama Islam Daerah (PAID) Gombak on 17 April 2019. The team was given a briefing on the deviant teaching cases in Gombak.
The Mosque Curriculum Development team (Kulliyyah’s Flagship 1) had successfully conducted its first Focus Group Discussion with selected members of Masjid Al-Syakirin, Gombak on 14 April 2019. This is part of data collection activities for Flagship 1 to understand issues and needs of the people in Gombak.
Team members for the Kulliyyah’s Flagship 2 on Empowering Youth held its first meeting with the village headman of Kampung Sungai Pusu, Gombak on Saturday, 6 April 2019. Activities for the SWC Project which is one of the projects under Empowering Youth Flagship will be centred at this village.
On 7 April 2019, a group of students from the Department of Sociology and Anthropology are engaging with villagers in Social Entrepreneurship Project. This community engagement project is held at Kampung Setia Jaya, Setapak. A lecturer from the Department, Associate Professor Dr. Rohaiza Rokis is supervising the team.
On Saturday 6 April 2019, a group of Post-Graduate students from the Department of Sociology and Anthropology who are attending class of Technology, Environment and Society played their roles as environmental stewards, clearing the river trails in IIUM Gombak campus. This positive value activity under the Gombak Project is supervised by Dr. Norazlin Tajuddin.
Students who are attending LE 4501 class (Language for Occupational Purposes) this Semester participated in a community engagement project in Gombak on 6 April 2019. Students from various Human Science Departments engaged in various activities with the Orang Asli community at Kampung Bukit Kala, Batu 12, Gombak.
The team members for the Kulliyyah’s Flagship 1 – Developing Mosque Curriculum together with the Kulliyyah Management Team visited Pejabat Agama Islam Daerah (PAID) Gombak on 2 April 2019. The purpose of the visit is to coordinate activities which will be conducted by the Flagship 1 team throughout the month of April.
