During the Movement Control Order (MCO), which was between March to June 2020, KOED has initiated two WhatsApp Group namely, UG Be There4U Support Group (undergraduate students) and KEPSA Be There4U Group (postgraduate students). These support groups were led by Dean of KOED, Prof. Dr. Ainol Madziah Zubairi together with KOED lecturers such as Dr. Haniza Rais, Dr. Norwati Mansor, and Dr. Siti Kholijah Kassim.
The purpose of these support groups were to provide emotional and psychological support to both local and international students who were still on campus and did not manage to travel back to their hometown.
Besides that, these students were also given goodies which mainly consist of ready-to-eat food/drink and fruits to keep them healthy. Most of the goodies distribution were led by Dr. Norwati Mansor, who is also the Principal of Mahallah Hafsah. These food items were contributed and donated by KOED lecturers. May Allah SWT reward them for their good deeds!
The majority of these students were still stuck in mahallah in the holy month of Ramadan. But Alhamdulillah, most of the local students were then allowed to travel back to their hometown right before Eid. They travelled back bacth by batch according to the location of their hometown. Safety precautions and measures were taken including checking on their body temperature, making sure they put on face mask and use hand sanitizers. Besides that, the seats allocated in the bus were at least 1m distance from each other.
Alhamdulillah, during the month of Syawal, there were only left about 70 KOED students living in mahallah, including local and international; undergraduate and postgraduate students. Again, KOED lecturers decided to make donations and prepare special Raya goodies for these students.
These Raya goodies were distributed to the students on Friday, 5th June 2020, led by Dr. Faizah Idrus, the Deputy Dean of Student Affairs & Alumni. Prof. Dr. Ainol Madziah Zubairi, Dean of KOED, also joined to distribute these goodies to the students.
