{"id":275,"date":"2020-08-06T18:00:02","date_gmt":"2020-08-06T18:00:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flagship.iium.edu.my\/fpk\/?p=275"},"modified":"2020-08-09T03:49:37","modified_gmt":"2020-08-09T03:49:37","slug":"koed-urged-to-bring-national-education-philosophy-in-its-place","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flagship.iium.edu.my\/fpk\/2020\/08\/06\/koed-urged-to-bring-national-education-philosophy-in-its-place\/","title":{"rendered":"KOED urged to bring National Education Philosophy in its place"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>IIUM Today <a href=\"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=141911\">https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=141911<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"681\" src=\"https:\/\/flagship.iium.edu.my\/fpk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2020\/08\/Rector-Visit-to-KOED-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-276\" srcset=\"https:\/\/flagship.iium.edu.my\/fpk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2020\/08\/Rector-Visit-to-KOED-1024x681.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/flagship.iium.edu.my\/fpk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2020\/08\/Rector-Visit-to-KOED-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/flagship.iium.edu.my\/fpk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2020\/08\/Rector-Visit-to-KOED-768x511.jpg 768w, https:\/\/flagship.iium.edu.my\/fpk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2020\/08\/Rector-Visit-to-KOED.jpg 1064w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption>Tan Sri Rector&#8217;s visit to Kulliyyah of Education (KoED) on 6th August 2020<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>By Danial Yusof<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GOMBAK, 7 August 2020: The Kulliyyah of Education (KOED) must act as the leader in the university since IIUM is an educational institution, besides the kulliyyah has always been considered as the resource centre in education for all kulliyyahs in IIUM, Prof. Emeritus Tan Sri Dato\u2019 Dzukifli Abdul Razak said during his visit to KOED on Thursday (6 August).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI think the Kulliyyah is about the future of education, so the Kulliyyah must have the capacity, the ability and the willingness to see what the future looks like and make it meaningful for the future as this is the role of the Kulliyyah.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added that in this post-COVID 19 period, none of the university in the region has come up with a formal method of teaching for education, therefore, the Kulliyyah must take this opportunity to come out with modules that can be used globally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Besides, the Rector urged the Kulliyyah to reclaim the National Education Philosophy (NEP) or the&nbsp;<em>Falsafah Pendidikan Kebangsaan&nbsp;<\/em>(FPK) which acts as an indicator for IIUM to further expand its education syllabus with some addition on Islamic perspectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe FPK probably is the starting point because it has been there for the last 30 years and nobody has looked into it, certainly I think it may need some refining and retuning because things have changed, particularly during the post-COVID period,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Dean of KOED, Prof. Dr. Ainol Madziah Zubairi, the Kulliyyah\u2019s programme will be structured according to the initiatives shared by the Rector in making it relevant to IIUM residents particularly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She added KOED will work closely with schools, from kindergarten and all the way up to the secondary school to see changes in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have never taken out the FPK from IIUM, we want to champion and we are championing it.
