Falsafah Pendidikan Kebangsaan

Higher education is experiencing a drastic change due to globalization. The effects can be seen in the liberalization of economics, internationalization, use of English, testing and international ranking. The quality of education is measured by KPIs and international ranking that gives priority to research grants, indexed journal publications and commercialized products. Knowledge has become a commodity such that the humanities, arts and religion have been marginalized. Education has lost its soul. The holistic graduate is no longer the major goal of university education. Marketability and employability of the graduates determine the university curriculum. The university has become a factory churning products without values. Education has been de-humanized. It is timely that the FPK which has been only implemented in basic education be extended and continued in higher education
