The Hikmah Pedagogy training programme for IIUM academic staff was successfully held on 21st and 28th May 2021 (Fridays) from 9:00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. via online platform, namely Google Meet. The workshop was conducted by several instructors including Prof. Dr. Rosnani Binti Hashim, Dr. Abdul Shakour Duncan Preece, Dr. Souad Merah, Dr Suhailah and Dr. Siraje.
There was a total of 17 participants registered. These registered participants comprised of IIUM KOED academic staff based in Gombak. Previously the training was postponed once with the hope of conducting it in a face-to-face manner. Unfortunately, the 3.0 MCO had been implemented, thus it was done via online platform. The participants who had achieved at least 75% of full attendance would be given an e-certificate and highly encouraged to participate actively in the future trainings. Prof Rosnani expressed her hope that more participants would also be the future Hikmah Pedagogy trainers, especially for those who could communicate in Arabic.
As for the conclusion, the workshop has achieved its objective of sharing with the participants the new method of teaching based on Hikmah Pedagogy. The participants enjoyed the programme as evident from their enthusiasm and questions asked during the workshop.
