This flagship is a continuation of the Masachain Flagship, and the main component of Masachain, the Blockchain technology, is still maintained. The Masachain concept has inspired the development of the Waqf Time System in IIUM and further enhanced the Sustainable Social Bank (SSB) System. The main idea behind the Sustainable Social Bank (SSB) is the deposit of the time taken to provide services to the community to a social time bank, which can be withdrawn later when needed.
While the concept has been implemented in other countries, this is the first of its kind in Malaysia. In light of the IIUM philosophy, it is important to include the Maqasid Shariah element into the SSB establishment, where the emphasis will be on ensuring that the sustainability of the economy of the community can be preserved. In addition, this flagship also involves the implementation of SSB in the IIUM community as the starting point, and later, will be extended to the Gombak area, as the first community outside IIUM to be involved in this project.
