SCITECH 1.0
The event was organized at SK Senibai in Johor, Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan from 15-17 November 2019. There were 59 indigenous students aged 10-12 years old participated in the event. The modules conducted were Egg & Parachute , Balloon Car, and Volcano Erruption.
SCITECH 2.0
Due to pandemic COVID-19, the event was conducted online. All modules preparations and training by the committee were hosted at Makers, IIUM for teachers and students of SK Senibai. There were Phase 1 and Phase 2 activities. The preparation of modules and vidoe recording took place on November 23rd and 27th 2020. The modules and user manuals were sent to SK Senibai by courier on December 21st 2020. This event was sponosored by Suruhanjaya Kebangsaan UNESCO Malaysia (SKUM) grant.
SCITECH 4.0
On October 23-24, 2021, 20 residents of Darul Ilmi Care Home and 20 residents of Al Nasuha Protection Home in Selangor, Malaysia, participated in two modules, including Microbit by ROBOTEAM and a Science Module Demonstration with activities like creating a Lava Lamp, exploring a Lemon Battery, and experimenting with a Mechanical Hand. The event was sponsored b SKUM and IEEE. This event was part of the flagship initiative known as IIUM falgship 2.0.

SCITECH and EXFAIR 2020/2021 organized a robotic module using Microbit for 17 children from an orphanage, Raudhatul Nurr Jannah, Batu Caves on 23rd October 2021. The event was also organized by the Usarah In Action Section 34 and part of IIUM Flagship 2.0.

Scitech 7.1 took place on May 21, 2023, at PPR HICOM Shah Alam, featuring 40 participants aged 10 to 12 from the PPR HICOM community, who engaged in modules including Elephant toothpaste, Smart sifir, The mysterious bridge, and Cup Tower, with sponsorship provided by the IIUM Stadd Grant and IEEE Instrumentation & Measurement Society Malaysia Chapter.

The Scitech 6.0 event was held on November 5, 2022, at the Kuliyyah of Engineering, IIUM, and brought together 40 participants aged 7-12 years old from PPR HICOM Shah Alam and PPR Gombak Setia for modules including a Makers Exhibition, Egg Parachute, and Microbit activities, sponsored by the IEEE Reaching Local Grant.

Scitech 7.2 was hosted on June 3, 2023, at PPR Gombak Setia, with the participation of 40 residents from PPR Gombak Setia, aged 10 to 12, engaging in modules including Rekacipta Jambatan, Pencakar Langit, DIY Volcano, and Awan Buatan, supported by sponsorship from the IIUM Stadd Grant.

Scitech 8.0 held on October 29, 2023, at the Kuliyyah of Engineering, IIUM, brought together 40 participants aged 10 to 12 from PPR Gombak Setia and PPR HICOM Shah Alam for an explorace featuring modules such as Little Math Experts, DIY Lava Lamp, DIY Boat, Digestive System, alongside Microbit activities and a visit to Makers, with sponsorship from the IEEE Instrumentation & Measurement Society Malaysia Chapter.
SCITECH 9.2
On May 4th, 2024, we held SCITECH 9.2 with the theme ‘Buka Potensi, Terokai STEM’ at Adab Youth Garage Bangi in Bandar Baru Bangi. This event brought together youngsters from various family backgrounds, especially those from low-income families.
The programme focused on understanding the community’s current conditions and needs through community profiling. We interviewed participants aged 8-12 and the heads of their families to gather information. We received positive feedback from both parents and our partner, AYG.
Our expertise lies in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). So, to engage the community and spark interest in these fields, we included STEM-based games and activities in our community profiling. The modules featured Human Tic-Tac-Toe, where participants answered maths questions to earn their spot in the game, Balloon Keep Up, which taught Newton’s universal law of gravitation, and STEM Mini Quizzes that enhanced science knowledge and helped us gauge their understanding of these subjects.
The programme report and survey results will be presented at the 5th University In Action Symposium on June 7th, 2024. The insights gained from SCITECH 9.2 will guide us in making necessary improvements for the next Usrah In Action, scheduled for Semester 1 of the 2024/2025 academic year. This continuous improvement will ensure that our future initiatives are even more impactful to the needs of the community.

SCITECH 9.1
SCITECH series of programs is here! On 27th April 2024, we had SCITECH 9.1 at PPR Kota Damansara with children from low-income families. The theme of SCITECH 9.1 is Jelajah Genius. The event, themed “Jelajah Genius,” focused on community profiling to understand the current situation and needs of the community. We conducted interviews with participants aged 8-12 years and heads of families to gather insights.
Our strength is on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). So, throughout our community profiling, we integrated games and STEM activities to engage the community and foster interest in these fields. We emphasized the importance of knowledge and STEM for personal growth to become beneficial individuals.
The modules included Board Games incorporating math knowledge, Build a Balloon Car – introducing mechanical aerodynamics concepts, and Stem Crosswords enhancing science knowledge. Each module offered unique lessons and ‘ibrah’ (insights).
