Dr. Mohd. Affendi, the flagship, has had a discussion with the Library of IIUM Kuantan about an exhibition to be held in the library. The exhibition will tentatively take place in September 2021 until November 2021. Please mark your calendar to visit the exhibition, specifically at the IIUM Corner section (under staircase) in the library. The event is also open to the public (subject to IIUM SOP during COVID-19 pandemic). The contents of the exhibition is still in preparation but will surely include books of Malay medical manuscripts, some herbal plants, quizzes, posters, etc. Do come visit us in 5 month-time. See you insyaAllah.

Ten books related to Malay medical manuscripts were handed to the Library of IIUM Kuantan campus by the Flagship on Wednesday, 21st April 2021. One of the books, ‘Buku Panduan Mengkaji Perubatan Melayu’, was the product of a collaboration between the Flagship and Akademi Jawi Malaysia for a massive project of ‘Projek Gotong-royong Merumikan Manuskrip Perubatan Melayu Sempena PKP 2.0’.
According to the library, they are really keen to increase the library’s book collection but the issue is always the financial strength. And the victims are the students, from all walks of life, who cannot get enough references for their studies. What’s the meaning of celebrating World Book Day if we have loads of books but not the genres that we need to increase our knowledge?

In March 2021, a new book from the flagship was published, authored by the flagship leader himself, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Affendi Mohd Shafri. The book was developed to help people who are interested in Malay medical manuscript, do research on them. The book will cover about the procedure on how to study them. The book was published in Bahasa Melayu, by Akademi Jawi Malaysia. This book was also produced in conjunction with a massive collaboration work between the flagship and approximately 40 researchers from 3 countries namely Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia. Here is the blurb of the book.
